Rumor: Hulk Joining ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Thor: Ragnarok Rumor

According to JoBlo, Mark Ruffalo‘s beloved Hulk will punch his way into Thor: Ragnarok, making his third appearance in the MCU’s films. In addition to Ruffalo, the site is confirming that Tom Hiddleston and Jaimie Alexander will return for the Odinson’s third solo film, starring Chris Hemsworth.

The report states that the new movie’s going to be set on a “distant planet,” one that isn’t “Asgard and not Earth.” but probably neither is the planet Sakaar from Planet Hulk storyline. There are nine worlds of Yggdrasil, and each constitutes a planet of its own.

Don’t really care about Planet Hulk, but Hulk and Thor in a film together, with massive battles and stakes?  Yes, please.

The previous two Hulk films haven’t exactly been runaway hits at the box office, and the Thor movies had the weakest legs of the bunch in terms of revenue, so the pairing works. This also makes sense based on Marvel’s recent formula of turning its solo films into ensemble ones, such as Captain America: Civil War and the recent announcement of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Er… yeah, I’d rather remain skeptical about that one unless we hear something official from Marvel.

The Odinson's Third Solo Film

Elsewhere, Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 3, 2017, scripted by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle with Taika Waititi set to direct.
