‘Rusalka: Ozero myortvykh’ Gets an International Trailer

Russian Fantasy-Horror Film

An international trailer has arrived online for Rusalka: Ozero myortvykh (aka La Sirena: la leyenda jamás contada), the upcoming fantasy-horror movie that will be released in theaters in Russia and Latin America.

Directed by Russian filmmaker Svyatoslav Podgaevskiy (Nevesta), the plot of the film is based on Slavic mythology: in Russia it was believed that drowned unmarried girls become mermaids – evil demons of rivers and lakes. The main heroine of the film is preparing for the upcoming wedding and yet does not know that her lover met a strange young girl on the shore of a forest lake…

The film stars Victoria Agalakova, Igor Khripunov, Yefim Petrunin, Cecil Plege, Nikita Yelenev and more. In Russia, the premiere of Rusalka will be held on June 12th, while in Latin America it will hit theaters in December 2018. An evil Mermaid falls in love with Marina’s fiancé Roman and aims to keep him away from Marina in her Kingdom of Death under water. The Mermaid is a young woman who drowned a few centuries ago. Marina only has one week to overcome her fear of the dark water, to remain human in the deathly fight with the monsters and not to become one herself.
