Scott Adkins and Tony Jaa Join KICKBOXER Remake

Scott Adkins (Zero Dark Thirty) and martial arts legend Tony Jaa (Fast & Furious 7) are joining the likes of Alain Moussi and Dave Bautista in the high-octane Kickboxer remake, directed by Stephen Fung (Tai Chi Zero).

Alain Moussi will fill the shoes of Jean Claude Van Damme (the original Kickboxer was released in 1989) in the planned 3D reboot of the Kickboxer movie series, which features a variety of over 20 martial arts disciplines: Guardians of the Galaxy’s Drax the Destroyer himself, kickboxer_original_posterBautista has long wrestled professionally for WWE but has formal backgrounds in Kali, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; X-Men: Days of Future Past star Moussi is a practitioner of Karate, Kickboxing, Aikido, Goshindo, Kobudo, Filipino martial arts, Sambo, Judo, and Jiu-Jitsu; former UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre practices Kyokushin Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, and Wrestling along with a vast array of talents stemming from a Mixed Martial Arts background.

Brian O’Shea, CEO of The Exchange, said about future martial arts Expendables flick:

“Kickboxer will display a style of acrobatic, rapid-fire martial arts action that Scott Adkins is increasingly becoming synonymous with. Along with Tony Jaa, Kickboxer has compiled a talented cast to push the boundaries of the martial arts form.”

However, neither Adkins, Jaa, nor Batista have been yet officially confirmed for the film and talks remain on-going as they await a final contract to be outlined. There’s no word yet on when the new Kickboxer will start filming.

Please throw Iko Uwais in it too.
