Second Trailer for Adam Sandler’s THE COBBLER

Adam Sandler Comedy

Image Entertainment has released second trailer for Tom McCarthy‘s trainwreck The Cobbler, which appears to be an Adam Sandler comedy about a magical shoemaker.

You can’t judge a movie based on its trailer, as well as you can’t judge someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes, but festival critics weren’t kind to this comedy drama in Toronto.

The Cobbler opens in theaters and on VOD on March 13th, and also stars Ellen Barkin, Steve Buscemi, Melonie Diaz, Dan Stevens and Method Man.

I can’t help but repeat myself, “At the start I was like WOW, serious Sandler and then I was like NOPE, regular Sandler. After the end of the trailer I was like… just another paycheck movie with big names including Sandler. D’oh!”

THE COBBLER is a warm and character-driven comedy that plays to the strengths of Adam Sandler’s and Thomas McCarthy’s most commercial successes. Sandler plays a 4th generation shoe-maker who discovers a magical sewing machine in his father’s basement that allows him to transform into other people by wearing their shoes. Similar in theme to Tom Hanks’ BIG, TRADING PLACES, and 13 GOING ON 30, THE COBBLER provides the perfect vehicle for Sandler to exhibit his endearing and selfless boyish charm, taking him on a voyage of self-discovery and learning the importance of family via the magic of “walking a mile in another man’s shoes.” A journey that results not only in changing himself, but the world around him.
