In advance of a September 26 limited release in U.S., a new domestic trailer for writer Hossein Amini‘s directorial debut The Two Faces of January has dropped.

A suspense thriller stars Academy Award nominee Viggo Mortensen, Golden Globe nominee and Cannes Best Actress winner Kirsten Dunst, and the new cast member of Star Wars: Episode VII, Oscar Isaac.

Based on the novel of the same name by Patricia Highsmith, the film follows a charismatic American couple (Mortensen and Dunst) on vacation in Greece who become entangled with tour guide and scam artist Rydal (Isaac).

The duality of the nature of each character is slowly revealed throughout the story and second trailer does an excellent job of summarizing it, while the first one did a great job at establishing dramatic tension. It undoubtedly looks like a lost Hitchcock film.

Two Faces will also be hitting VOD on August 28 so you can see for yourself. Hit the jump to check it below.

In 1962, the charismatic Chester MacFarland (Viggo Mortensen) and his alluring younger wife Colette (Kirsten Dunst), arrive in Athens by boat via the Corinthian Canal. While sightseeing at the Acropolis they encounter Rydal (Oscar Isaac), a young, Greek-speaking American who is working as a tour guide, scamming tourists on the side. Drawn to Colette’s beauty and impressed by Chester’s wealth and sophistication, Rydal gladly accepts their invitation to dinner. However, all is not as it seems with the MacFarlands and Chester’s affable exterior hides darker secrets.
