Giovanni Ribisi In Cuba

The new trailer for Papa: Hemingway in Cuba, the first Hollywood film shot in Cuba since the revolution, has dropped.

This sort of biopic is actually framed from the perspective of a character based on journalist Denne Bart Petitclerc, played by Giovanni Ribisi, who befriends Ernest Hemingway (Adrian Sparks) in the late ’50s after sending him a fan letter. Minka Kelly plays Debbie Hunt, a young reporter’s love interest and kinda muse.

The Bob Yari-directed film hits theaters on April 29. Check out the trailer and see the “literary giant at odds with the FBI, leftist rebels and his own drinking.”

Sparks certainly looks the part of a famous writer, and it will be interesting to see if he can really nail the old Papa’s bravado.
