See Two Parts of the New Triptych ‘Jungle Book’ Poster

Disney's Live-Action

Update: Disney unveils the full Jungle Book triptych poster, which can be seen below along with the third and the final piece.

Disney has revealed left and right-hand side of a triptych The Jungle Book poster, featuring King Louie (voiced by Christopher Walken) and Kaa (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), and the film’s villain, Shere Khan (voiced by Idris Elba).

The Jon Favreau’s live-action adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s celebrated book opens April 15th, and also features the voices of Bill Murray (Baloo), Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Lupita Nyong’o (Raksha), Giancarlo Esposito (Akela), and stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli.

The middle piece will be released on Thursday. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Disney dropped a new trailer for the film as well. Here’s the left-most portion, devoted to King Louie the orangutan and the boa constrictor Kaa:

Louie really let himself go. And here’s the right side of the poster, showcasing the fearsome tiger Shere Khan:

Disney's Live-Action

The Jungle Book offers an all-new, live-action/CGI epic adventure about Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (Bill Murray) . Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (Scarlett Johansson), a python who’s seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire.

Update: The Mouse House has released the final portion of the poster, which features Baloo the bear (voiced by Murray), the panther Bagheera (voiced by Kingsley), and young newcomer Sethi as Mowgli himself.

Well, the CGI is not inherently bad. Favreau can do no wrong but this poster looks like a crappy collage. King Louie looks huge. And Sher Khan definitely looks like he’s blind in his left eye.
