Seth Grahame-Smith to Direct and Write ‘The Flash’ Solo Movie

DC Cinematic Universe

The DC empire strikes back. Marvel first started the quirky directors arms race, but DC is following right behind: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith is reportedly in talks to write and direct the movie adaptation of The Flash for Warner Bros.’ DC Cinematic Universe.

According to THR, the best-selling author will make his feature directing debut on the blockbuster superhero film based on the iconic DC Entertainment scarlet speedster super hero. Not really my top choice, but here’s hoping he’s got quite the idea if the heads at WB went with such a risky pick.

The Lego Movie writer-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller already wrote a treatment on the script which has no connection to the TV series on The CW. The busy duo were considering to direct, but decided to go with the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff instead.

The Flash already has a March 3, 2018 release date and an actor who portrays the title role – Ezra Miller. The character is due to be introduced in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and then more prominently in Justice League Part 1, which will be released in the summer of 2017.
