Following the original teaser from last month, a second trailer for Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is here.

A new 60-second trailer gives us a better look at just how fragile the use of power can be in a world full of crime and grime.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez (Machete) and Frank Miller, who wrote the graphic novels for the Sin City series, A Dame to Kill For features new characters played by the likes of Josh Brolin, Eva Green, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in addition to Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, and Jamie Chung reprising their roles.

What’s immediately clear is that Rodriguez isn’t changing what made Sin City so iconic, except that the shots are a lot cleaner. Character transformations are pretty damn cool.

The sequel to 2005’s Sin City opens later this year, on August 22nd.

Dwight (Brolin) is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to “The Big Fat Kill” (seen in the first Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.
