‘Slender Man’: First Trailer for the Film Adaptation of Internet Meme

Film Adaptation Of Internet Meme

Sony Pictures has released the first official trailer for a horror adaptation of a creepypasta meme Slender Man.

Directed by Sylvain White with a screenplay by David Birke, the movie probably involves lots of ominous shots of a tall, creepy, “slender” man that haunts kids.

The titular character was created by Something Awful forums user Eric Knudsen as part of a 2009 Photoshop contest. In 2014, he inspired real-life horror as two 12-year-old American girls in Wisconsin lured a friend into the woods and stabbed her 19 times in an effort to “appease” the fictional entity.

Jaz Sinclair, Joey King, Julia Goldani-Telles, Annalise Basso, and Javier Botet star in the film. You can watch the full-length  trailer in the player below.
