STAR WARS: EPISODE VII to Feature Christina Chong

According to multiple sites, their sources have confirmed the newest member to Star Wars: Episode VII‘s ever growing cast is up-and-coming British actress Christina Chong.

In addition, 24: Live Another Day actress took to her twitter to retweet an image back when Star Wars: Episode VII casting began:

We don’t know exactly who she will be playing yet, but it’s expected that the role will be minor (she has dark hair, maybe she’ll be Han and Leia’s daughter). The addition should help to some extent as the presentation of the Episode VII cast was criticized for its lack of female faces (aside from returning star Carrie Fisher, the only other woman was newcomer Daisy Ridley).

She joins relative unknowns Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen along with Ridley, and the rest of the new cast which is filled with thespians of varying levels of stardom such as Oscar Isaac, John Boyega and Adam Driver.

The Disney and Lucas film tentpole cast includes returning franchise veterans like Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker, while the new faces also include Max Von Sydow, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Lupita Nyong’o, and Gwendoline Christie.

Despite rumors of a delay, so far the J.J. Abrams-directed Episode VII is still set to bow December 18, 2015.

Chong’s impressive talents in parkour are put on display in a short parkour action highlight film titled Parkour Showreel 2012, so perhaps her role will take use of those talents.
