“Stranger Things”’ David Harbour Eyed for Cable Role in ‘Deadpool 2’
A “Stranger Things” star David Harbour might be up to play the role of Nathan “Cable” Summers in Deadpool sequel.
According to The Wrap, Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper on the popular Netflix series, has reportedly screen-tested by Fox for the role, but he has not yet been cast as the fan favorite mutant. I’m not happy about this; he’s good as Hopper but he has a Seth Rogen physique.
Collider backs this report up and reaffirms that Harbour is one of a handful of actors who are being “seriously considered” for the part, but you can definitely put this one down as a rumor. Previous names that have been linked to play the time traveling mutant include “Bloodline”’s Kyle Chandler and Pierce Brosnan, as well as Russell Crowe and Michael Shannon.
From the official Marvel Directory, the adult son of Cyclops is “a mutant whose physical attributes have been enhanced to superhuman levels. His principal mutant powers are his vast telepathic and telekinetic abilities. He can employ the latter to levitate objects and to create protective force shields. He must continually employ his telekinetic powers to prevent the techno-organic virus from affecting the rest of his body. His techno-organic left arm and shoulder possess even greater strength than his entirely organic ones. Cable’s techno-organic right eye can see into the infrared portion of the spectrum.”
John Wick helmer David Leitch is directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Stay tuned for updates.
