Following yesterday’s Comic-Con leak, Warner Bros. opted to go with officially releasing the full Suicide Squad trailer in hi-res which you can check out in the player below, and find more than 20 screenshots from the footage in the gallery too.

Judging by the trailer, the film is not bad and I am very excited for what David Ayer has put together. I was really anxious about it, but I’m gonna sleep tight tonight. It definitely has a gritty aesthetic. Besides, Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) is hot and I like Jared Leto‘s take on the Joker. Despite that I no longer think that Will Smith was a good choice to play Deadshot. He simply isn’t a convincing bad guy.

The upcoming anti-hero film also stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jai Courney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, as well as Jim Parrack, Adam Beach, and Ike Barinholtz. Suicide Squad will shoot until September for an August 5, 2016 release.

Love how it stands apart from the rest of comic book movies. DC is apparently going for the more adult crowd.

Created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru back in 1959, the Suicide Squad team has included countless DC villains among its ranks, including Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, Bane, Killer Frost, Poison Ivy, Count Vertigo, Deathstroke, and Harley Quinn. The CW’s “Arrow” introduced their own version of the team in the most recent season of the series and the recent animated film, Batman: Assault on Arkham, offered another version of the team.
