Universal Pictures’ Straight Outta Compton had a massive opening with an estimated $56 million this weekend. Universal just can’t put a foot wrong lately. Their movies have grossed the company over $2 billion just in North America.

Weekend Box Office: FANTASTIC FOUR Opens Behind ROGUE NATION

Fox‘s Fantastic Four ended up falling behind Paramount’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation for the weekend with $26.2 million, along with a nasty “C-” CinemaScore.

The previous Fantastic Four film finished first with a $56.1-million opening weekend in 2005.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation easily claimed victory at the weekend box office with a strong, $56 million showing.

The movie received a big push for its IMAX showings with Paramount previewing the first five minutes of the movie in IMAX in front of Terminator Genisys.

Final FANTASTIC FOUR Trailer: Doom is Coming

On the heels of its Comic-Con debut, Fox has now officially released the final Fantastic Four trailer, showing a lot more of Dr. Doom, the villain, played by Toby Kebbell.

We also see Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Miles Teller and Jamie Bell make up the titular superhero team as well as getting a new look at the pants-less Thing when speaks and tears apart a tank.

X-MEN/FANTASTIC FOUR Crossover Coming in 2018?

Josh Trank Fired from the Second STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY Film

Fantastic Four director Josh Trank, who was attached to direct the second Star Wars Anthology film (which follows Gareth EdwardsRogue One) is reportedly fired from the project.

THR is floating rumors of tensions between Trank and Fantastic Four producer Simon Kinberg who is also producing the stand-alone Star Wars spin-off film.
