Weekend Box Office: ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Swings into First

Warner Bros. Pictures’ The LEGO Batman Movie opened on top with an impressive $55,6 million from 4,088 theaters. The brick version of the Dark Knight bested Fifty Shades Darker (Universal Pictures) and Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter Two.

The Chris McKay-directed spinoff features the voices of Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, and Ralph Fiennes. The PG-rated adventure in interlocking Gotham received an A- CinemaScore from audiences.

Yes, it’s hot and scary and it’s all set to Zayn Malik & Taylor Swift’s song. (Oh my!) Fifty Shades Darker will be in theaters February 10 and a third film, Fifty Shades Freed will be out February 9, 2018.

Universal has unveiled the new Fifty Shades Darker trailer, which unfolds the latest bedroom antics of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).

The sequel has a couple of new rules: no secrets, way less BDSM.

Universal has released the first full trailer for the hotly-anticipated sequel Fifty Shades Darker, directed this time by James Foley (House of Cards).

In this entry, Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan return as uneasy lovers Christian Grey and Ana Steele, as well as they are set to return in the third followup, Fifty Shades Freed.

Well, sorry for the delay, but here’s a new red band trailer for Marlon Wayans‘ spoof comedy, which opens on January 29th and co-stars Jane Seymour, Kali Hawk, Mike Epps, Fred Willard, Andrew Bachelor, Affion Crockett, Florence Henderson and Kate Miner.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed Fifty Shades of Grey, will not return to direct Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to this year’s smash hit starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Taylor-Johnson has officially split from the barely-BDSM film franchise adaptation of E L James’ best-selling book trilogy for Universal.
