Yeah, it’s October, the month of horror movies. From bad to good. Hit man flick  was second with $14.1 million. In my book, John Wick was rad.

Weekend Box Office: Furious FURY Blasts GONE GIRL

The tank-set World War II drama Fury, starring Brad Pitt, topped the box office this weekend, and held off David Fincher’s Gone Girl with a solid $23.5 million.

The film had an okay but not spectacular Friday with an $8.8 million, while two other newcomers landed in the top five:

FURY Moves Up to October 17th

Sony Pictures has moved up David Ayer’s World War II drama Fury, starring Brad Pitt, from an original November 14th release date to October 17th.

The film’s date change could look to build commercial steam and a longer awards campaign for the film ahead of the awards push.
