See New ‘Ghostbusters’ Character Posters

Like it or not, a new Ghostbusters film is on the way, and Sony Pictures has released a series of four character posters to prove it. Those are good posters, but they aren’t selling the comedic part – unless this pic will be a dramedy.

Check out the new character posters for yourself after the jump. They arrive just one day after the release of the first official image from the film.

Sony Pictures has released a new official Ghostbusters photo from Paul Feig’s upcoming all-female reboot, featuring the main cast members Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, suiting up and ready for action. I guess this means we can expect a trailer soon.

The next step in Sony’s expanded Ghostbusters universe might be an animated movie, which will arrive after Paul Feig‘s female-driven Ghostbusters reboot due out next summer. The second live-action project is reportedly also in the works with Joe and Anthony Russo. (I though the Channing Tatum Ghostbusters flick wasn’t happening?)

Bill Murray (heading to the set in Boston, as seen above) was very diplomatic in a recent interview with Vulture when he spoke about what made him finally step back into Ghostbusters reboot … albeit in a small role as a different character, which is rumored to debunk the new crew, played by Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.

The gender-switching is continuing to grow in Paul Feig-directed Ghostbusters. Chris Hemsworth, Marvel Studios’ Thor, takes over from the role played in the original 1984 Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel Ghostbusters 2.

Female Ghostbusters Reboot

While promoting his latest movie Spy, the Bridesmaids writer-director Paul Feig explained why he turned down Ghostbusters 3 in favor of all-female Ghostbusters reboot.

“I just kept turning it down because I didn’t know how to do it,” the filmmaker told AlloCiné. “The scripts had been written, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. I wasn’t excited about it.”
