Ridley Scott’s $140 million budgeted Exodus: Gods and Kings easily topped the weekend with a $24.5 million debut, which is well-below the $43.7 million earned fellow biblical epic Noah this past March on its opening weekend. A little surprising actually, I wasn’t expecting Mockingjay to get knocked off until The Hobbit came out.

Chandor‘s New York drama A Most Violent Year, awarding its stars Oscar Isaac (in a tie with Birdman‘s Michael Keaton) and Jessica Chastain with top honors in the actor and supporting actress categories.
