The reign of Fox’s Deadpool has finally ended after three weeks at number one. Disney’s animated comedy Zootopia easily took first place over the weekend with a huge $73.7 million debut, the biggest opening ever for Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The full winners of this year’s Academy Awards have been announced on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, with Spotlight taking the honor of best film, while Mad: Max Fury Road picked up the most with six.

Spotlight won Best Picture at the 21st annual Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday night in Santa Monica, along with best original screenplay and best ensemble, but Mad Max: Fury Road took home nine prizes, with best director (George Miller) being the biggest.

The 2016 Oscar nominees were announced this morning at a special two-part news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The Revenant led the Oscar nominations with 12, followed by Mad Max: Fury Road with 10.

The Martian picked up 7, while Carol got 6. Spotlight also managed 6, as did Bridge of Spies, while The Big Short managed 5 nominations, along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

‘Trumbo’ Leads 2016 SAG Awards Nominations with Three

The Hollywood blacklist drama Trumbo earned three SAG nominations, leading the pack in the film categories including a lead acting nomination for Bryan Cranston and another for ensemble. Kinda surprised to see Trumbo in there.
