Universal’s Jurassic World topped the box office for the third week in a row. The Chris Pratt/Bryce Dallas Howard-starring dino-sequel is in a close race for first with Pixar’s Inside Out, which brought in $52.1 million for the weekend, down just 43% from its opening weekend.
Inside Out scored the top debut of all time for an original Pixar property, but even that strong debut came up short of Universal’s thriller about dinosaurs.
Jurassic World added an additional $102 million for its second weekend in theaters, while the animated Pixar film opened with an estimated $91 million domestically.
Melissa McCarthy’s action-comedy Spy picked up business on Saturday to end up with a $30 million debut weekend and easily takes the top spot, down from the $35 – $40 million that many expected.

“I just kept turning it down because I didn’t know how to do it,” the filmmaker told AlloCiné. “The scripts had been written, but I couldn’t figure out how to do it. I wasn’t excited about it.”
