Disney and Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story continued to lose altitude in its second weekend. The space saga added an estimated $29.3 million, down 65 percent from last weekend, for a cumulative total of $148.9 million domestically, which is well-short of the Star Wars prequels.

Directed by Ron Howard, after Phil Lord and Chris Miller left the nearly shot film over creative differences, it stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, plus Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thandie Newton, Warwick Davis, Clint Howard, and Joonas Suotamo returning as Chewbacca.
Today, director Ron Howard has officially revealed the title for the “Star Wars” Han Solo spinoff and it isn’t such a big surprise:
Solo: A Star Wars Story.
It’s official: Ron Howard has been hired to drive the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff home just two days after directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were mercilessly fired over creative differences with Lucasfilm producers — Lord & Miller’s comic aspects were reportedly the issue.
Academy Award-winning director will officially take over directing duties for the remainder of the film’s shooting schedule — there’s nearly a month of principal photography to go in addition to five weeks of pre-scheduled reshoots.
