Deleted ‘Force Awakens’ Scene Shows Chewie Ripping Plutt’s Arm Off

Uploaded on Saturday, the clip that is cut from a version of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, shows Chewbacca ripping off the arm of Simon Pegg’s Unkar Plutt character after the Jakku junk dealer threatens Rey in Maz Kanata’s bar.

In the final cut of the 2015’s ultra-blockbuster, the scene never takes place, but a portion of the entire interaction was actually included in the The Force Awakens‘ 3D Collector’s Edition and Blu-Ray that is available now.

Before he rocked our worlds thanks to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, John Boyega filmed Imperial Dreams, a film that made its world premiere at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, but despite good reviews it never closed a distribution deal.

Boyega is certainly a much bigger star now than he was when the film premiered and it would be great if this film could be seen by a wider audience.

Ride Along 2 took the top spot at the weekend box office and beat out Star Wars: The Force Awakens after four weeks atop box office charts.

Scoring a B+ CinemaScore, the comedy sequel starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube has debuted to $34 million over three days and an estimated $39.5 million over the four-day Martin Luther King weekend.

‘The Revenant,’ ‘Mad Max’ Lead 2016 Oscar Nominations

The 2016 Oscar nominees were announced this morning at a special two-part news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The Revenant led the Oscar nominations with 12, followed by Mad Max: Fury Road with 10.

The Martian picked up 7, while Carol got 6. Spotlight also managed 6, as did Bridge of Spies, while The Big Short managed 5 nominations, along with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
