The top three films remain the same this weekend with Universal’s The Fate of the Furious on top of the domestic box office, grossing $38.7 million in its second weekend to bring its total to $163.6 million.
A global cum now stands at $908.4 million, and there’s a good chance that the F. Gary Gray-directed film (made for $250 million) will cross the $1 billion mark next weekend, even with the arrival of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2.
Universal Pictures‘ The Fate of the Furious won the weekend race with $100.2 million domestically and a $432.3 million internationally to an estimated $532.5 million global debut over Easter weekend.
The eighth film in the 16-years old franchise played in nearly 23,000 theaters around the world and cracked the global record held by Disney’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made $529 million worldwide in 2015.
