Weekend Box Office: ‘Happy Death Day’ Opens at #1

Box Office Winner

Universal and Blumhouse’s Happy Death Day topped the weekend box office with a strong $26.5 million, easily dethroning Blade Runner 2049, which dropped to second place with $15.1 million in its second frame.

Made for a mere $4.8 million, the “Groundhog Day”-like horror film directed by Christopher Landon and rated PG-13 follows the success of Blumhouse’s other 2017 hits, “Get Out” and “Split”.
