Oliver Stone‘s upcoming biopic on the NSA whistleblower is now filming in Washington, D.C. and the first look at Shailene Woodley as Lindsay Mills, the girlfriend of Edward Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has arrived.

The first images of Joseph Gordon-Levitt portraying NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone‘s upcoming biopic Snowden were released via Open Road Films and Gordon-Levitt himself.

Open Road Picked Up Oliver Stone’s Edward Snowden Film Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt


According to Deadline, details have been finalized for indie distributor Open Road Films and production and financing company Endgame Entertainment to partner on the U.S. release of Oliver Stone‘s Edward Snowden movie, which will star Joseph Gordon-Levitt as the NSA whistleblower, also the subject of Laura Poitras‘ Oscar documentary frontrunner Citizenfour.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is reportedly the top contender to play one of America’s most famous whistleblower and asylum-seeking CIA leaker, Edward Snowden in Oliver Stone’s next film The Snowden Files.

According to the trade, Gordon-Levitt and Stone want the deal to happen. Stone and producer Moritz Borman have bought up two sources for their film,
