Weekend Box Office: EXODUS Tops MOCKINGJAY with Soft $24.5 Million

Ridley Scott’s $140 million budgeted Exodus: Gods and Kings easily topped the weekend with a $24.5 million debut, which is well-below the $43.7 million earned fellow biblical epic Noah this past March on its opening weekend. A little surprising actually, I wasn’t expecting Mockingjay to get knocked off until The Hobbit came out.

First Trailer for Chris Rock’s Cameo-Filled Comedy TOP FIVE

Paramount Picture has debuted the first trailer for cameo-filled comedy Top Five, the latest film directed, written by, and starring Chris Rock.

Paramount quickly picked up the film  for a staggering $12.5 million and a $20 million P&A commitment after it premiered to strong praise during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
