Teaser Trailer for Sundance Hit DOPE

2015 Sundance Hit Comedy

Open Road Films has released a teaser trailer for Rick Famuyiwa‘s Dope, the big hit of this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

To be clear, the unusual new trailer below will tell you nothing about the narrative happenings of the film, a crime comedy which stars Shameik Moore, Tony Revolori and Zoë Kravitz. It’s all vibe.

Moore plays Malcolm, a modern-day nerd who is carefully trying to survive one of Los Angeles’ toughest neighborhoods while juggling college applications, academic interviews and the SAT. Alongside his friends Jib (Revolori) and Diggy (Kiersey Clemons) he’s obsessed with the living color era of the 90s, including the hip-hop, of course.

Hit the jump to check out this trailer, which looks like something that would be created by Malcolm and his friends. The film hits theaters on June 19 and co-stars Forest Whitaker (who also produces), Blake Anderson, former L.A. Laker Rick Fox and rapper A$AP Rocky.

Put together well…I don’t even care if the movie’s half as good…Well I’m doped up. Lol
