‘Terminator 6’: Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms He’ll Be Back

The New Terminator Sequel

Talking to ScreenDaily in Cannes, action star and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed that he will star in the new Terminator sequel.

“It is back,” he said, revealing that he had met James Cameron recently and discussed the project. “It is moving forward. [Cameron] has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise. I will be in the movie.”

The latest word back in January is that Cameron, who directed the original 1984 film and created the series, is prepping to produce a reboot helmed by Deadpool director Tim Miller. Cameron has also announced that the new Terminator sequel will likely disregard every Terminator film after T2.

But Cameron is going to be in Avatar-land for several more years, so it’s unlikely he’ll spend a lot of time working on the script for Terminator 6. He’s set to reclaim the rights in 2019 and many things are open to change. And Arnie is about to be 70, so de-age him, makeup, CGI, whatever.
