TERMINATOR Reboot Sequels Get 2017 and 2018 Release Dates

Paramount Pictures must feel pretty confident about Terminator: Genisys, the fifth installment in the Terminator film series because they’ve greenlit two sequels for the reboot and locked release dates for them.

The second and third installments in Paramount/Skydance’s rebooted Terminator franchise are expected to be filmed back to back with the first sequel dated for May 19, 2017 and the second slated for June 29, 2018.

The two films are simply called Terminator 2 and Terminator 3 for now, but those won’t be the actual titles since they’ve been already used.

No further details on the films are available, e.g., whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will continue his role as the T-800 killing machine in the sequels, but hold tight.

Directed by Alan Taylor, the ill-titled Terminator: Genisys stars Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, Matt Smith, and J.K. Simmons and hits theaters on July 1, 2015.

I’m all for a darker, horror-ish return to the original. How about your?
