The 2016 Film Festival Winners

The 2016 Sundance Film Festival concluded Saturday night, January 30 with a special awards ceremony, which saw big win for Nate Parker’s powerful directional debut The Birth of a Nation.

Nat Turner slave rebellion drama that sold to Fox Searchlight for a record price of $17.5 million, was named the U.S. Dramatic Grand Jury Prize winner and also won the Audience Award in that category, which has been the case at Sundance for the last four years (last year Me and Earl and the Dying Girl won both).

Big winners also included World features like Sonita and Between Land and Sea, along with another U.S. offering, Morris from America. Taika Waititi, director of fest film Hunt for the Wilderpeople, hosted the awards ceremony, which you can watch after the jump.
