‘The Big Short’ Gets a New Trailer

Steve Carell & Ryan Gosling

The second The Big Short trailer kicks off the bank fraud in the teeth, just a weeks after its world premiere at AFI Fest in Los Angeles earlier this month to positive critical reception.

Brad Pitt, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Christian Bale play four maverick investors in this financial crisis drama based on Michael Lewis‘ 2010 book of the same name. They try to take on the banks before a major collapse in the global economy.

The impressive supporting cast includes Karen Gillan, Marisa Tomei, Melissa Leo, Hamish Linklater, John Magaro, Jeremy Strong and Rafe Spall. Directed by Adam McKay, The Big Short opens in limited release starting December 11 before expanding wide on December 23. Watch the second trailer for the star-studded film about the 2008 mortgage crisis.

I love that McKay really swung for the fences with his first pretty serious movie. Hopefully this will be true to fact. There’s also a new The Big Short movie poster below.

Adam McKay's Financial Crisis Drama

When four outsiders saw what the big banks, media and government refused to, the global collapse of the economy, they had an idea: The Big Short. Their bold investment leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking where they must question everyone and everything. Based on the true story and best-selling book by Michael Lewis (The Blind Side, Moneyball), and directed by Adam Mckay (Anchorman, Step Brothers) The Big Short stars Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.
