The ‘Cars 3’ Extended Trailer Reveals Lightning McQueen’s Comeback
Disney-Pixar have released the first full-length trailer for Cars 3, which provides a lot more insight into the film’s concept.
Directed by newcomer Brian Fee, the third entry in the series won’t be kind to its lead character, Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) who has to recover and battle for his championship, after a disastrous crash we seen in the bleak first teaser trailer as well.
Cars 3 is set for a June 16, 2017 release also featuring the voices of Armie Hammer, Bonnie Hunt, Tony Shalhoub, Katherine Helmond, and Paul Dooley. The screenplay is written by Daniel Gerson. Check out the extended sneak peek below.
McQueen is not the young hotshot anymore, the kid he was back then in Cars 1. He’s in the middle of his life, and as an athlete, that’s getting up there. You have your whole life ahead of you, yet your career is starting to show its age. He’s looking in the mirror and realizing, “I’m 40 years old,” and dealing with the fact that the thing that you love more than anything else, you might not be able to do forever.
