The First Epic ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer is Here!

Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man

Disney has unveiled the very first trailer for the highly anticipated Marvel Studios sequel Captain America: Civil War. Actually, Civil War stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to debut the new trailer for the next film in the Marvel franchise.

However, this almost seems like a crazy mash-up and it left so much up in the air as well.

Hit the jump to check out the first trailer which gives us our first look at new hero, Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman.

Penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, Daniel Brühl, and Tom Holland. Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6th, 2016.

Okay, Thor won’t be in the movie, but I was hoping for Spider-Man. Definitely looks ‘brighter’ than that other comicbook film coming out some two months earlier. The most intriguing part of the trailer for me was that Cap/Black Banther/Bucky tunnel chase. Evans & Downey Jr. also brought with them the first three posters that you can view below along with a slightly updated plot synopsis for the film.

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
