The First Full Trailer for ‘Ghost in the Shell’ is Here!
Paramount Pictures has released the first full-length trailer for director Rupert Sanders’ live-action Ghost in the Shell featuring Scarlett Johansson as Major Motoko Kusanagi.
Based on the classic manga written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow, the movie is about the indomitable cyborg who goes up against a robotic company that’s over-stepping their boundaries.
Also starring: Michael Pitt as a terrorist dedicated to wiping out all of Hanka Robotics’ cyber technology, and Pilou Asbæk as Batou, the second best fighter in the elite task force known as Section 9; with Juliette Binoche, Michael Wincott, Rila Fukushima, Chin Han, Beat Takeshi (a.k.a. Takeshi Kitano), and Joseph Naufahu also appearing.
I don’t expect much from the story, but I do expect a visual fest. The film opens in US theaters on March 31st, 2017. Check out a full-fledged Ghost in the Shell trailer below, along with a new poster, and be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.
It has a Blade Runner vibe.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
