Michael Fassbender

The very first trailer for Justin Kurzel‘s adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard has been released online.

The movie received positive notices after its Cannes debut and will be released in the UK on October 7. The Weinstein Company is set to distribute the new adaptation of Shakespeare’s bloody tragedy in the U.S. at a later date.

David Thewlis, Elizabeth Debicki, Jack Reynor, Sean Harris and Paddy Considine co-stars. Written by Jacob Koskoff and Todd Louiso, the new take on the Bard’s classic story of war, power, murder and guilt will retain the play’s 11th century setting and is said to use the original dialogue as well. Great casting, and it does looks good. Watch below.

MACBETH is the story of a fearless warrior and inspiring leader (Michael Fassbender) brought low by ambition and desire. A thrilling interpretation of the dramatic realities of the times and a reimagining of what wartime must have been like for one of Shakespeare’s most famous and compelling characters, a story of all-consuming passion and ambition, set in war torn Scottish landscape.
