The First Official ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer Hits the Web!

The Third X-Men Installment

20th Century Fox has debuted the full X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, featuring one of the X-Men’s most notorious villains in all his glory.

The Bryan Singer-directed third installment in the long-running superhero saga sees the return of James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier, alongside Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, and Lucas Till as Havok as well as newcomers Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Ben Hardy as Angel, and Lana Condor as Jubilee. Oscar Isaac is starring as the film’s title antagonist, the ancient and invincible Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters on May 27, 2016. See for yourself:

Those last few shots of Archangel, Storm, and Magneto looked weird, but Apocalypse looked slightly better than what the EW photos made him out to be. Trailer was a bit underwhelming compared to what some of the recent comic book films had to offer, but I’m sure it will turn out to be a decent X-Men film.

The Film’s Title Antagonist

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

Update: Hot on the heels of the first X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, director Bryan Singer has revealed an epic new poster that features Oscar Isaac’s Big Bad.

The Third X-Men Installment

Cool poster, but he didn’t look like that in any of the footage from the trailer. I guess there’s quite some trickery going on here.
