The First Trailer for ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ has Arrived

Renee Zellweger

The first official trailer for Bridget Jones’s Baby has finally arrived. Renee Zellweger debuted the clip for the third film based on creator Helen Fielding’s heroine on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

Colin Firth, Patrick Dempsey and Emma Thompson co-star in the rom-com threequel, which follows Bridget as a new mom in her 40s. Sharon Maguire, who directed the original Bridget Jones’s Diary, returned to direct Bridget Jones’s Baby from a script she co-wrote with David Nicholls (One Day). The film hits theaters on September 18th.

The new trailer shows that the marriage between our giant pants-wearing heroine (Zellweger) and the dark horse Mark Darcy (Firth) doesn’t go quite as they planned. And as usual, she will find her heart fluttering elsewhere, this time catching the attention of Jack Qwant (Dempsey). Watch below.

Plot details are being kept under wraps. The question remains if the father of the child will be Firth’s Darcy, Dempsey’s new character, or perhaps a third party. Hugh Grant, who appeared in the previous two films, will not reprise his role for Bridget Jones’s Baby.
