The First Trailer for Jesse Owens Biopic ‘Race’ Arrives

Focus Features has released the first trailer for Race, the biopic of the Olympic athlete Jesse Owens and his legendary appearance at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

John Boyega was originally cast in the lead role of Owens, but was replaced by Selma‘s Stephen James after he dropped out of the project to join Star Wars: Episode VII.

Directed by Stephen Hopkins, based on a script written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, the film also stars Jason Sudeikis, Jeremy Irons, Carice van Houten, Shanice Banton, and William Hurt.

Race arrives in theaters on February 19, 2016. Check out the first trailer below (via Yahoo).
