The Joker Revealed in Full On ‘Suicide Squad’ Empire Cover

Jared Leto Straightjacket

According to Yahoo! Movies, the December issue of Empire Magazine gives us a great new look at Jared Leto suited up as his off-kilter version of the famous DC villain, the Clown Prince of Crime, for David Ayer‘s upcoming movie Suicide Squad.

The issue also features a shot of the character (below), in a straightjacket, talking with a non-Harley Quinned-up Margot Robbie, and there are even more images inside of Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), and more.

Leto also talks about his odd behavior on set and immersive approach to the role in an exclusive interview with Empire.

“It’s something different. If you don’t break rules, you’re not going to strike new ground.”

The Suicide Squad producer Charles Roventhe added that the look of Joker was “inspired by Mexican cartels” in the past, while he’s now, “More social…a very successful and smart businessman besides being a sociopath.”

Probably a bit over the top for my taste but I don’t mind a bit of reinterpretation of the character. Take a look below.

Hopefully he’ll give a good performance. The DC Comics-inspired movie also stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang,  Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, Adam Beach as Slipnknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. Suicide Squad opens August 5, 2016.
