The Latest Trailer for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is Out

Lucasfilm and Disney have released the third official trailer for Gareth EdwardsRogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first Star Wars spin-off movie arriving in theaters December 16, 2016.

In addition to giving us our very first look at the new characters such as Mads Mikkelsen‘s Galen Erso and more of Forest Whitaker’s insurgent Saw Gerrera, the new trailer also gives us another glimpse of the returning man in black, Darth Vader.

Starring Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso (described as a “Joan of Arc” character), plus Donnie Yen as the blind spiritual warrior Chirrut Imwe, Ben Mendelsohn as the film’s main antagonist, Director Orson Krennic, Diego Luna as Captain Cassian Andor, Riz Ahmed as the Rebel pilot Bodhi Rook, and Alan Tudyk as the droid K-2SO, Rogue One is about a group of rebels who set out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.
