The New Trailer for Ridley Scott’s Sci-Fi ‘The Martian’ has Landed

Ridley Scott's New Sci-Fi

20th Century Fox has released the new full-length trailer for Ridley Scott’s new sci-fi The Martian, starring Matt Damon and I think it’s a good one.

I’m not saying the first one wasn’t good enough, but this new one offers up a much clearer sense of the tone of the film. For the sake of the book, I hope Ridley Scott can do humor well. I also think it didn’t give much away, except that a NASA astronaut Mark Watney’s (Damon) whole base blows.

Also starring Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie and Chiwetel Ejiofor, the film from a screenplay written by Drew Goddard and based on the novel by Andy Weir arrives October 2.

Watch the second official trailer for The Martian below.

Definitely going to give the movie a try.

Ridley Scott's New Sci-Fi

During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive. Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring “the Martian” home, while his crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney’s safe return. Based on a best-selling novel.
