THE REVENANT First Trailer Features Leonardo DiCaprio & Tom Hardy

Leonardo DiCaprio Action

20th Century Fox has unveiled the first trailer for Alejandro G. Inarritu‘s (Birdman) revenge drama The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.

Shot by Emmanuel Lubezki, using only natural light (over eight months), this looks like something special. I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be a career-best for DiCaprio and could finally be the movie that earns Leo an Academy Award.

Based on the novel by Michael Punke, the real life story follows Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) a fur trapper who’s left for dead by his partners after a clash with a bear, but he survives against all odds and goes to find revenge. Hardy, who was forced to drop out of Suicide Squad due to scheduling conflicts with this project, plays his confidant-turned-enemy John Fitzgerald.

Also starring Domhnall Gleeson and Will Poulter, the action adventure The Reveneant opens in limited theaters on Christmas Day and expands wide on January 8, 2016.

That is insane camerawork. Mesmeric.

Tom Hardy Action

Deep in the uncharted American wilderness, hunter Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is severely injured and left for dead by a traitorous member of his team, John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). With sheer will as his only weapon, Glass must navigate a hostile environment, a brutal winter, and warring Native American tribes in relentless quest to survive and exact vengeance on Fitzgerald.
