Tina Fey and Ronda Rousey are Heading Up ‘Do Nothing Bitches’

Tina Fey And Ronda Rousey

According to Deadline.com, “SNL” alum Tina Fey will star opposite MMA fighter-turned-actress Ronda Rousey in Do Nothing Bitches, a comedy Universal bought Friday from Sisters scribe Paula Pell.

Funny enough, the title and concept for the film originated from an episode of a UFC vlog from last summer when Rousey discussed a certain type of woman her mother raised her not to be. The term “DNB” or “Do Nothing Bitch” ended up on t-shirts the world over. Check it out.

Umm, they’re really milking that phrase for all it’s worth. The logline is being kept secret for now, but the trade hears it revolves around wealthy pampered wives who receive a “rude awakening” at a camp run by a no-nonsense instructor (Rousey). Sounds very similar to 1995’s Heavy Weights, except with rich wives instead of teens and Ronda Rousey instead of Ben Stiller.

It’s worth mentioning that things get bought all the time in Hollywood and then never get produced. Universal receiving a pitch does not necessarily mean this idea will come to fruition–stars get attached, deals get hashed out, and it still dies on the vine.

If nothing else, it’s all but certain that the title of this movie will be changed before it’s released. But hey, maybe this movie gives the DBN-thing a new and more funny spin. Wouldn’t be surprised if we never see Rousey in the Octagon again. Good for her.
