Tina Fey Goes to War in the ‘Whiskey Tango Foxtrot’ Trailer and Poster

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Paramount Pictures has debuted the first trailer and poster for the Afghanistan war dramedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, starring Tina Fey, Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman.

Fey plays a TV reporter sent to Kabul on assignment. She adjusts to the wild, adrenaline-fueled atmosphere, while living in the same house with fellow journalists, played by Freeman and Robbie.

Based on the memoir by former Chicago Tribune reporter Kim Barker, and directed by Focus and Crazy, Stupid, Love directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the film will be released on March 4, 2016.

Also starring Billy Bob Thornton, Alfred Molina, Christopher Abbott, and Josh Charles, check out the first trailer and poster below.

Great cast. Molina made me lol. This could be good.

Sreenwriter Robert Carlock reportedly wanted to capture a tone that was reminiscent of two 1970 films, Robert Altman’s Korean War-centric M*A*S*H and Mike Nichols’ World War II movie Catch-22. Not easy to accomplish, but not quite impossible either. I like that the humor appears to be natural rather than over the top.
