Tom Hardy Plays Both Kray Twins in the First LEGEND Trailer
Tom Hardy, the star of the underwhelming Child 44, as well as this summer blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road, also portrays twin gangsters Ronnie and Reggie Kray in Brian Helgeland‘s upcoming crime drama, Legend.
The film is based on John Pearson’s book The Progression Of Violence and tells the story of notorious British gangsters who presided over London’s East End in the 50s and 60s. Their story was previously adapted for the big screen in the 1990 Peter Medak film, The Krays, which starred brothers Gary and Martin Kemp.
Hardy plays both of the brothers, giving a double-performance that’s carefully edited so that characters appear on-screen together through some cinema magic. I hope that he will make this well worth a watch. Also hope he will be nominated this time, the man deserves it already.
The cast also includes Emily Browning, Taron Egerton, Christopher Eccleston, Paul Anderson, David Thewlis, Chazz Palmenteri and Colin Morgan.
Legend will hit U.K. theaters on September 11th, though Universal has not set a U.S. release date. You can watch the teaser for the new gangster movie below.
