Trailer for Denzel Washington & Viola Davis ‘Fences’

Based On August Wilson’s Play

Paramount has debuted the very first trailer for Denzel Washington’s latest directorial effort Fences, opening in theaters on December 25.

Based on August Wilson’s 1987 play, this family drama stars Washington and Viola Davis, both of whom won Tony Awards for their performances in Fences’s 2010 Broadway revival, while the rest of the cast includes Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson and Saniyya Sydney.

Fences tells the story of a retired baseball player dealing with race relations in the 1950’s as well as dealing with more personal events including his complicated relationship with his son. Check out the trailer after the jump.
