Trailer for Sci-fi Film ‘Embers’

Claire Carre's Sci-Fi Film

Take a look at the first trailer for Embers (via Twitch), an adult sci-fi film about a world struggling for meaning without memory. The directorial debut of Claire Carré will close out the 22nd Slamdance Film Festival on January 28.

This poetic feature based around memory and interpersonal connection has already proved a festival hit, having taken home awards at the New Orleans Film Festival and Austin’s Other Worlds SciFi Film Festival in 2015.

Embers stars Jason Ritter and Iva Gocheva with Dominique Swain, Karl Glusman, Greta Fernandez and Tucker Smallwood in supporting roles. Watch the new trailer and check out the poster below.

Based on the trailer, this one seems to be the couples version of Memento. Just kidding, Memento is not a science fiction film.

Claire Carre's Sci-Fi Film

The world as we know it has been forgotten. A decade after a global epidemic, those who remain suffer from lasting effects of the virus – retrograde and anterograde amnesia. The survivors navigate a decaying landscape, unable to recall the past or create new memories. Each finds their own way to cope with life in a perpetual present, where meaning must be experienced moment by moment.
