Trailer for Tom Tykwer’s ‘A Hologram for the King’ Starring Tom Hanks

Lionsgate has released the first trailer for Tom Tykwer’s (Run Lola Run, Cloud Atlas) dramedy A Hologram for the King.

The Tom Hanks-starring film is based on Dave Eggers’ book about a down-on-his-luck American salesman pitching a “holographic teleconferencing system” in an up-and-coming Saudi Arabian city – only to be challenged by endless Middle Eastern bureaucracy.

A Hologram for the King will premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and will be released on April 22 by Lionsgate/Roadside Attractions/Saban Films. The film also stars Alexander Black, Sarita Choudhury, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Ben Whishaw and Tom Skerritt. Check out the full trailer below.

Well, now you can rating this movie in Rotten Tomatoes. The trailer is all over the place. The book is really fantastic though.

Cultures collide when an American businessman (Tom Hanks) is sent to Saudi Arabia to close what he hopes will be the deal of a lifetime. Baffled by local customs and stymied by an opaque bureaucracy, he eventually finds his footing with the help of a wise-cracking taxi driver (Alexander Black) and a beautiful Saudi doctor (Sarita Choudhury).
