‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Pays Tribute to the Past in Third Trailer
Paramount has released the new Transformers: The Last Knight trailer, which unveils a medieval-centric backstory of the Autobots and Decepticons.
The fifth entry in the big screen franchise sees Mark Wahlberg reprise his role of Cade Yeager alongside with new characters — an Oxford professor played by Laura Haddock, an English Lord played by Anthony Hopkins, and a “street-smart tomboy” Izabella played by Nickelodeon star Isabela Moner — to fight for Earth.
Once again directed by Michael Bay, the film opens June 23rd and also stars Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Gil Birmingham, and Jean Dujardin. Check out the Transformers: The Last Knight trailer below.
The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.
Plans for the franchise already include the untitled Bumblebee spinoff on June 8, 2018, and Transformers 6 on June 28, 2019.
