Tyrese Gibson Wants to Play Green Lantern in JUSTICE LEAGUE

The Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson campaigns for the future Green Lantern role, like so many other actors seem to do these days, including Jason Momoa when he was rumored to be playing Aquaman.

Warner Bros. announced most of the Justice League cast back in October, but there’s one important Justice Leaguer that hasn’t been cast yet and Gibson has taken to his official Instagram account and posted a fan made picture of himself in a Green Lantern costume.

Six of the seven Justice League super heroes are Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Gibson shared the following image of him as John Stewart the second Green Lantern (credited to D&R Arts), with the perfect caption to stoke the fire: “Rumor has it that”

Green Lantern Rumor

Needless to say, this week was full of some really big rumors, many of which deal with superhero or villain roles, from Karl Urban as the villain in Aquaman to Chiwetel Ejiofor in Doctor Strange and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke in Suicide Squad, and now Gibson renewed interest in seeing John Stewart alongside Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman instead of Hal Jordan. But he’s apparently throwing his hat into the ring, rather than responding to genuine rumors.

Nevertheless, this sounds awesome, unless they drop the mocap thing (it didn’t worked out for Ryan Reynolds). Heaven is a place nearby, so there’s no need for that. What we need is the realistic spandex costume.

Whatever the case, the most rumors suggest that fans will get their first look at the new Green Lantern at the end of Justice League Part One in 2017, before he gets a stand-alone reboot in 2020.
